The Fondation Maeght thinks big!
18st of December 2023 – 11th of June 2024
A new winter exhibition in all the rooms of the Fondation Maeght, mainly large formats from its permanent collection.
An impressive collection!
The exhibition opens with an almost black-and-white room: Oh Sufan, Henri Michaux, Anna-Eva Bergman, Pierre Faucher, Pier Paolo Calzolari, Max Ernst… then Bram and Geer Van Velde, Georges Braque, Pierre Bonnard, Marc Chagall, Joan Miró, Fernand Léger, Pierre Soulages, Vassily Kandinsky, Ellsworth Kelly, Paul Jenkins, Hans Hartung, Simon Hantaï, François Fiedler, Raoul Ubac, Pierre Tal Coat, Paul Rebeyrolle, Joan Mitchell, Eduardo Chillida, Alexander Calder, Jean Dubuffet, Pierre Alechinsky, Jacques Monory, Hervé Télémaque, Valerio Adami and Erro, as well as more contemporary works by Jan Voss, Ra’anan Levy, Erik Dietman, Marco Del Re, Xavier Grau and Lee Bae, to name but a few.
This incredible collection, one of the largest in Europe with over 13,000 works by 20th and early 21st century masters, is also on display in the gardens, with a selection of sculptures by Richier, Miró, Giacometti, Takis, Bury, Chillida and Dietman. The exhibition is also the subject of a book available from the Foundation’s bookshop and e-shop.
In the summer of 2024, the Maeght Foundation will celebrate its 60th anniversary with a major thematic exhibition, the inauguration of its new rooms and a month of celebrations (concerts, films, dance, readings, etc.).
