A Peregrination – Martha Graham at the Fondation Maeght, conceived and performed by Christine Dakin with guest artists – 16th of July

16/07/2026 19:30

This is a roaming performance and will take place standing.

The performance begins at 7:30 pm.

Tickets are non-exchangeable and non-refundable.

Christine Dakin and her four dancers present an in situ performance in which the dance of Martha Graham resonates with the spaces and artworks of the Fondation Maeght. Through improvisations and reinterpretations, they explore Graham’s emblematic vocabulary and technique, punctuating their journey with choreographic “quotations.”

This artistic promenade, moving through the Sculpture Garden, the Miró Labyrinth, the Giacometti Courtyard, and the exhibition galleries, creates an immersive experience where dance, architecture, and art enter into dialogue. A talk will take place following the performance.

A Peregrination was created in collaboration with: Elena Albano, Stefania Coluro, Axel Gerard, and Christophe Jeannot.

With gratitude for the contribution of Graham for Europe.

Celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Martha Graham Dance Company.
Special thanks to Sharyl M. Curry for initiating this dynamic collaboration between Christine Dakin and the Fondation Maeght.

An event supported by the Comité des Nuits and the International Council of the Fondation Maeght.
