This musical program aims to explore the multifaceted dimensions of Hélène Delprat’s work.
Through an eclectic repertoire, ranging from the baroque universe of Gluck to contemporary works, including Erik Satie, Claude Debussy, Franz Liszt, and others, this sonic journey invites us to delve into themes dear to her heart: myths, metamorphoses, absurdity, irony, and mystery. We will also highlight two of her great friendships, underscoring the richness of her human and artistic connections.
It was in 2014, thanks to my friends, gallery owners Christophe and Nathalie Gaillard, that I discovered Hélène Delprat’s work. They spoke about it with such passion, describing it as an artistic and human encounter that had profoundly changed their lives.
During the exhibition Fair is Foul and Foul is Fair at Galerie Christophe Gaillard that same year, I had a true love-at-first-sight moment with her painting Les champs d’asphodèles (2013). A few months earlier, I had won five prizes at the final of the Orléans International Piano Competition, and the prize money allowed me to make this entirely unplanned purchase!
Always fascinated by strange worlds, symbolism, and myths, I immediately felt drawn to the depth and mystery of this piece. Its presence continues to enchant and inspire me. Over the years, my collection of Hélène’s works has gradually grown, as she is an artist whose singular universe moves me deeply and inspires me daily.
