This year, the Fondation Maeght launches its first stage dedicated to emerging talents.

The aim: to shine a spotlight on promising young musicians and composers through the Foundation’s artistic influence and outreach.

For this inaugural edition, pianist Paul Salard has been invited to perform.

In 2025, at just 17 years old, Paul became the youngest pianist to win First Prize at the YPF (Young Piano Foundation) Competition in Amsterdam. He also received the award for Best Chamber Music Performance, the prize for Best Interpretation of the contemporary piece composed by Jan-Peter de Graaff, the Audience Award, as well as the Youri Egorov Prize—awarded for only the second time in nine editions—honoring “an exceptional musical, artistic, and pianistic talent of international stature.”

The recital, featuring works by Beethoven, Bartók, and Rachmaninov, traces a journey through more than a century of piano music, exploring the transformations of musical language and pianistic gesture. Like visual artworks, it highlights tensions between structure and freedom, clarity and density, introspection and energy.
